Why CG Shaw
Colin Shaw started the business in the mid-1970s with one tractor and work from local farmers. Baling, hedge cutting, pea cutting, the foundations of good agricultural contracting. Word spread, the work grew, and some of those early client relationships are still going strong more than 40 years on.
Colin’s son Matt joined as a partner in 2013, bringing his own agricultural training and experience to a business built on reputation. Across Hampshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and Dorset, clients know they’ll get the same team, the same care and the same high standards they’ve always had. That consistency is something we’re quietly proud of, and it’s what keeps our clients returning.

How is CG Shaw different to a large contractor?
With a national contractor, your account is typically managed by someone who has never seen your site. We personally oversee every project, from the initial site assessment through to completion, with one point of contact throughout. That level of ownership and accountability isn’t available at national scale.
Can you handle one off projects as well as ongoing contracts?
Yes, we work on both. Whether you need a one-off job or a longer-term arrangement, we’ll agree a structure that suits you.
